10 Shortest WrestleMania Matches Of All Time

6. King King Bundy Vs. SD Jones - WrestleMania I (24 Seconds)

The very first WrestleMania came complete with the first inductee into the 'WrestleMania Short Matches Club'. King Kong Bundy had not long arrived in the WWF and was trucking folk left right and centre, building up to an inevitable showdown with the original vanquisher of monsters, Hulk Hogan. At WrestleMania this road continued when Bundy came up against SD Jones, a veteran of the ring who was something of a lower card enhancement talent at the time. Beating him was a sure sign of good things to come for his conquerer, and Bundy was a prime example of this. It wasn't surprising for Jones to pick up a loss against an opponent moving in the opposite direction, but doing so to Bundy in the manner he did was a shock to the system. Bundy just demolished Mr Special Delivery. All it took was a couple of avalanches and that's that. For years it was claimed that the match lasted just nine seconds, something which obviously isn't true. Even so, it didn't take long for Bundy to pick up the victory and it's still one of the shortest matches in 'Mania history.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
