Length of WWE Championship Reign: 24 minutes

Randy Orton has held the WWE Championship 10 times for a total of 680 days, seventh most among all wrestlers. That’s longer than Bret Hart, Triple H and Steve Austin.

But The Viper’s first title reign was rather notable for all the wrong reasons. First off, he didn’t win it – the title was literally handed to him by Vince McMahon at the beginning of No Mercy 2007. As mentioned earlier, Triple H immediately challenged, and then defeated Orton for the title. From the minute McMahon handed Orton the title until he lost it, 24 minutes elapsed.

Triple H would hold the title for most of the remainder of the PPV, losing it back to Orton at the end, kicking off Randy’s second WWE Championship reign, which would last for 203 days. At least that run was a bit more meaningful.
