10 Sickening Wrestling Bumps That Should Have Never Happened
5. Shane McMahon Gets Thrown Through Plexiglass
Up until this point, the majority of the moments mentioned on this list have come about due to a mistake made by a wrestler during a match. However, in this case, the fault undoubtedly lies with the folks behind the scenes.
As Kurt Angle and Shane McMahon battled their way through a hellacious Street Fight at King of the Ring 2001, the pair were under the impression that the glass the Olympic gold medalist would be launching the son of the WWE Chairman through would be of the sugar variety. Yet, they quickly found out that WWE had installed plexiglass instead which made their previously planned spots a bit more difficult than expected.
Difficult, but not impossible.
After trying and excruciatingly failing on a number of occasions, Angle was eventually able to send the young McMahon through two of the glass panels, picking up a frightening amount of legit lacerations for their troubles.
Needless to say, none of this plexi-carnage should have been on the cards and Vince McMahon even ordered the pair to refrain from trying to execute the dangerous stunts. In the end, though, this unintentional madness would go on to become immortalised as one of the most extreme and savage encounters in WWE history.
