Dolph Ziggler has a terrible history with concussions, as his first notable one cost him the biggest push of his career. He finally cashed in his Money in the Bank contract and won the World Heavyweight Championship, but the success wouldnt last. Not long after winning the title from Alberto Del Rio, he suffered a concussion after being kicked in the head by Jack Swagger and had to take several weeks off. When he returned to face Del Rio, he lost his first and only championship defence in a brutal match that turned Ziggler babyface and Del Rio heel. At the beginning of the year, Ziggler suffered another concussion when he faced Ryback on an episode of Superstars. He was forced to take another several weeks off but luckily returned in time for the Royal Rumble. As more and more is discovered about concussions, organisations like WWE and the NFL are slowly learning just how dangerous they can be and are stepping up their efforts to treat them. Ziggler was very lucky that this second concussion was as minor as it was, because they can be career enders.
