10 Sickest WWE Steel Chair Shots Ever

1. John 'Bradshaw' Layfield on Eddie Guerrero, Judgment Day 2004

This might be the most infamous chair shot in WWE history, as much for what happened afterwards as the shot itself. You have to give JBL and especially Eddie some credit here. In the build up to their WWE Title main event match at Judgment Day in May of 2004, business was down and fans were calling it the one of the most disappointing main events in PPV history- before it had happened! As such, I can only imagine Bradshaw and Eddie must've got together backstage and decided to go the extra mile in this match, in a screw you to the fans who had damned them. That extra mile came in the form of a blade job from Eddie after this stiff shot from Bradshaw midway through their bout. Cutting deep into his forehead, Eddie begins to legitimately bleed profusely within seconds, leading to a final 10 minutes of the match where the ring canvas became completely stained by Eddie's blood. The sight is sickening and disturbing and it culled the live crowd in attendance to a hush as Tazz and Cole did their best to keep the energy high in the wake of such gore. In the end, the crowd rallied behind Eddie as he beat down JBL, leaving with his title. Eddie would require an immediate visit to the hospital after and didn't wrestle prominently for two weeks after the match, for it took him that long to regain his strength from the excessive blood loss. It's context that only adds to the legacy of the strike and immediate aftermath of the most infamous chair shot in WWE history.
