10 Signings That Could Have Saved TNA
2. Jim Ross
Dixie Carter actually met with Jim Ross when he was free from WWE, but apparently she wasn’t that interested and her offer was underwhelming. It just showed what an amazing lack of wrestling knowledge she had. Not bringing him in was a decision that doomed her company.
Had she not wanted to lose millions of future dollars, and kept her business in good hands, she should have given Ross whatever he wanted, placed him on lead commentary and let him run up talent relations, just like he did in the Attitude Era. It was so, so obvious to pretty much everyone but her.
Whatever Hulk Hogan was making, she could have probably cut that in half, offered it to Ross, and that likely would have been enough to bring him on-board. Hell, even if she had to pay him more than Hulkster, it still would have been a brilliant investment.
Fans have a great respect from Ross, and having him involved in TNA would have erased a lot of their disdain for the company. He would have been a great ambassador to bring in new fans as well, and enhance the overall product with his voice alone. But instead, he was kicked to he curb by WWE and under-valued by TNA. Two big companies that somehow each made the same amazingly bad decision.
