10 Signs CM Punk Was Obviously Unhappy With WWE

3. He Almost Left Once Before

In 2011, CM Punk became the hottest commodity in wrestling after he cut his "pipe bomb" promo on Monday Night Raw. In short, he talked about how he was leaving WWE because he was fed up, and he planned on taking the WWE Championship with him. This led to a feud with John Cena, a spectacular match between the two at Money in the Bank 2011, and a rushed CM Punk comeback (and, of course, a loss to Triple H). Still, though, Punk had reached new heights when it was all said and done. The storyline did have a kernel of truth to it, though -- CM Punk's WWE contract was running out in the summer of 2011, and he was seriously thinking about leaving. He was clearly unsatisfied, but negotiations with WWE ended up going well -- he resigned the with the company for another three years, and got to participate in the most prominent storyline of his career. Still, whatever apprehensions he had about continuing to work for WWE hadn't been silenced -- just put on hold. Before the new contract came to its end, Punk had walked out of WWE -- and maybe we should have seen it coming.
