10 Signs That WrestleMania 36 Could Be A Crushing Disappointment
5. On That John Cena Vs. The Fiend Match...
This has enormous inadvertent comedy potential, which is fabulous, unless you want the Fiend to become the next Undertaker or anything.
The Fiend pointed to the WrestleMania sign as if he were just some innocent dreamer looking to make a name for himself, but the angle did get over because John Cena, in a remarkably restrained performance, actually - subtly! - sold the gravity of the challenge, even though a Jacksh*thammer had put the Fiend away just 24 hours earlier.
This subtlety cannot hold.
It's the Fiend.
It's the Fiend Vs. John Cena.
The Fiend is a farcical character, and f*ck knows how John Cena gurned his way into Hollywood because the man, from phrenology to acting skill, is the reincarnated soul of Jim Varney. He will, invariably, do one of two things, if not both:
1) Ridicule the Fiend character in his customary way, undermining the story before it's even told in the ring. "So Mr. Rogers ate a few pies, and I'm meant to be scared - hell naw, I'm John Cena!"
2) He will sell for the Fiend at 'Mania in a beyond exaggerated way, gulping like a complete cornball imbecile.
