10 Signs That WrestleMania 36 Could Be A Crushing Disappointment

3. What Is Daniel Bryan Even Doing?

Red Flag

Daniel Bryan did not make the Wrestling Observer's projected match card last week, which, before some of you bother, has proven accurate for several years now, a fact not undermined by how much Dave Meltzer might praise a wrestling match you haven't seen.

He's pissing about with Drew Gulak and Heath Slater on Friday nights. It makes some kind of terrible sense for him to work King Corbin at 'Mania - they are the #3 pushed pair of acts on SmackDown following the arrivals of Goldberg and John Cena - and rumours persist that we'll see round three of Daniel Bryan Vs. Sheamus.

"This time, they'll actually wrestle!"

Bryan reportedly loves working with Sheamus, and they have awesome previous, but a 12-15 minute midcard match, a familiar one, is no reward for how great and productive his work is. The man has helped immortalise the mythology of the WrestleMania World Championship match as both the Guy and the Gatekeeper.

It's not good enough. WWE has too few stars. Daniel Bryan should be far more of a star than he is. Daniel Bryan can make new stars better than the machine can.

The outlook of WrestleMania 36 will not remedy that.
