10 Signs You Watch Too Much WWE

7. You Refer To Wrestlers By Their Real Names

To be fair, if you attended Comic Con with the express aim of meeting Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, you'd address them as Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, not Batman and Superman. That would be weird, and perhaps a sign that you don't have a particularly firm grip on reality.

But in wrestling it's different. Wrestlers go by their stage name both in and, for the purposes of promotion at least, outside the ring. In some cases, they actively seek to hide their real name from the public (and, in very extreme cases, they actually change their legal name in order that it matches up with the one they use inside the squared circle, as was the case with Ultimate Warrior).

What we're getting at it here is that many of them don't like it when you turn up at their autograph-signing session and say, "Hey Phil Brooks," or "How's it going, Leati Joseph Anoa'i?". While it shows that you're a committed fan, it also raises some big questions, such as: if you know that, what else do you know? Where they live, perhaps. Or what they had for breakfast this morning.
