John Cena and Roman Reigns didn't assemble the theatrical masterpiece they probably assumed they had, but a red hot closing sequence that saw 'The Guy' polish off 'The Champ' at least provided the crucial visual of the former Shield member toppling yet another WWE icon as his redemptive road to WrestleMania continues. With the company apparently dead set on Reigns/Lesnar at the 'Show of Shows' (even at the expense of the Braun Strowman push, seemingly), the matches need not be perfect if the end objective is achieved.

Choice spots including the rolling double Attitude Adjustment and Roman's spear on Cena through the announce table were proficient and highlight reel-worthy, and Cena can convincingly pretend (for now at least) that he's found a suitable replacement at the top of the card.
