10 Stages Of Life As A Wrestling Fan

1. A Renewed Perspective

This year of 2018 might have given us Bobby’s Sisters, Bayley and Sasha, and Braun and small children, but there is, increasingly, no limit to its riches.

New Japan Pro Wrestling remains on fire. The current G1 Climax tournament has delivered brave character work on the part of the delightfully insane Kazuchika Okada, so brave as to be foolish exhibitions of dangerous strong style wrestling, and a succession of amazing near-falls that are so jaw-dropping because, conceivably, anybody could beat anybody.

The various starlets of the Independent scene engulf that, too; WALTER lacerates chests and pops crowds through his Teutonic terrorism, Joey Janela brings back the wrestling you never thought you missed, Penta El 0M breaks arms like f*cking wrestlers are supposed to do. It’s so fertile and uplifting at present that we can even get behind a daft flat earther as an endearing babyface.

The wider world of pro wrestling is so vast that there is literally no limit to its brilliance.

We fell in love with wrestling as kids, and in 2018, it’s one massive f*ck off candy shop.
