10 Stiffest Wrestlers Ever

2. Greg €˜The Hammer€™ Valentine

Son of the legendary Johnny Valentine, and a legendary wrestler in his own right, Greg €˜The Hammer€™ Valentine was a fixture of €˜Rock n Wrestling€™ era WWF. Ostensibly, the Greg Valentine character used his shin guard to enhance the effect of his devastating figure four leglock, but in reality, Valentine never needed any other way to dish out pain and suffering on those he faced off against. That€™s not to say that Greg was a bad wrestler. Far from it, €˜The Hammer€™ was actually a fine technical wrestler, with bags of stamina and a wonderful way with the fans, its just that Greg Valentine was cut from a different cloth to most of the other wrestlers of his era, namely, he was cut from the beaten up, decades old leather of the €˜old school€™ and, as such, he worked stiffly. As a result, his matches still look good and his offence is still utterly convincing to this day. Greg €˜The Hammer€™ Valentine may clock in as the second most punishing opponent of all time, but he should also be remembered as one of the best a wrestler could have hoped to lock up with.

I am a professional author and lifelong comic books/pro wrestling fan. I also work as a journalist as well as writing comic books (I also draw), screenplays, stage plays, songs and prose fiction. I don't generally read or reply to comments here on What Culture (too many trolls!), but if you follow my Twitter (@heyquicksilver), I'll talk to you all day long! If you are interested in reading more of my stuff, you can find it on http://quicksilverstories.weebly.com/ (my personal site, which has other wrestling/comics/pop culture stuff on it). I also write for FLiCK http://www.flickonline.co.uk/flicktion, which is the best place to read my fiction work. Oh yeah - I'm about to become a Dad for the first time, so if my stuff seems more sentimental than usual - blame it on that! Finally, I sincerely appreciate every single read I get. So if you're reading this, thank you, you've made me feel like Shakespeare for a day! (see what I mean?) Latcho Drom, - CQ
