10 Stiffest Wrestling Clotheslines Ever

9. The Rock On Mankind- Royal Rumble 1999

For those of you saw my previous article on the stiffest steel chair shots in WWE history, you'll know I reference this match at the top due to the abuse Foley took with that steel chair. However, if you've read Mick's autobiography, Foley Is Good, you'll know that the true pain actually started before the chair shots and it wasn't from the plunge into the €œelectrical circuit board€ either. Rather, after being handcuffed by Rock and attempting a brief comeback, Foley staggers as Rock rises to his feet, rebounds off the ropes and drives his arm squarely into Foley's unprotected throat causing Foley, with his hands locked behind him, to crash, back of the head first, into the mat. In Mick's own words, it was the hardest clothesline he ever took, which, when you consider his resume, is a pretty gruesome award. Mick probably had no idea at the time that what followed would make the clothesline seem like child's play but in the scope of all clotheslines, it ranks right near the top.

Betting on being a brilliant brother to Bodhi since 2008 (-1 Asian Handicap). Find me @LiamJJohnson on Twitter where you might find some wonderful pearls of wisdom in a stout cocktail of profanity, football discussion and general musings. Or you might not. Depends how red my eyes are.
