4. The Undertaker's Legacy

The Undertaker has been one of wrestling's genuine icons, perhaps the most respected wrestler in the history of the business and a main eventer from the moment he debuted as a Hogan-baiting zombie. His retirement at WrestleMania laid the groundwork for a storyline that has yet to be paid off.

The Undertaker's supernatural streak lets him become a storyline factor long after his ceases to appear in the ring. The Undertaker's Legacy emerges as a golden apple, a stimulus for conflict - maybe a new championship created by The Deadman, ownership of the mystical golden urn, or the Undertaker's supernatural patronage.

Whoever wants the legacy can take it, as long as they can fight off everyone else with their eyes on the gravebound prize.

Whoever wins it, and whatever form it takes, the Undertaker's sporadic appearances and the constant threat of his presence whip up a spooktastic hype over the conflicts that ensues. Evens come to a head around Halloween, when the Demon of Death Valley grants the holder of his legacy the status of Phenom - or drags them straight down to Hell for their hubris.
