4. The Undertaker - Motorcycle Commercial
Speaking of The Undertaker, the former WWE Champion has only been wrestling once a year (for the most part) for the past several years. During this time, Mark Calaway has rarely been mentioned on WWE programming unless its WrestleMania season. So it was a bit strange when the wrestling dirtsheets began passing around this commercial featuring The Undertaker, who is simply referred to as Mark. It was strange that Calaway did this commercial in that fans rarely see him out of character. He never appears at events like the Hall of Fame, yet he is wearing his biker gear for this commercial? It makes sense in the context of what the commercial is about, but still it was a big risk. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awzVhm3fVgY In the later part of the Attitude Era, The Undertaker tweaked his gimmick to be that of a biker. He dressed and acted similarly as he does in this commercial. So it wasn't a look that WWE fans hadn't seen from Calaway in the past. But the timing was so weird. WWE hadn't mentioned The Undertaker in months and one would think they would have a problem with Calaway doing the commercial. Perhaps WWE gave him permission, but that would be surprising given the fact that The Undertaker is always built up each during WrestleMania as if fans haven't seen him in a year.
