8. Signature Titles (That Never Happened)

Is there a more coveted piece of WWE merchandise than that fabled championship belt? We aren't supposed to try this at home, but how many fans had play-around promotions on beds and on bouncy castles? A massive percentage, I dare say. A genuine championship belt was the ultimate purchase.

All true, but spending £413 on a so-called signature championship that was never actually used? Get out of town. WWE shop has a number of these signature belts on offer, each as gaudy and silly as the last. There is a 30 Years Signature championship for The Undertaker, a greyed-out winged eagle that looks as though it was photocopied from an early '90s copy of Power Slam magazine.

How about the Triple H '25 Years' signature title, a world championship reshaped to mimic The Game's logo? 'Ugly' doesn't cover it, but it still looks better than the Bret Hart signature title, a classic belt rendered vomit-worthy by a pink and red trim. A garish belt for sure, but even that is better than the red and yellow splatter of the Hulk Hogan edition.

These belts are all pretty ugly in the first place, but the fact that they were never used on television brings up all sorts of questions. If you happen to be a Chyna mega-fan then sure, go ahead and buy the cash-in signature Intercontinental Championship.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
