10 Superstar Returns That Could Save WWE Payback

5. Ric Flair

After retiring from in-ring matches at Wrestlemania XXIV, Flair has spent time with anyone who€™d have him €“ TNA, Ring of Honor and Hogan€™s €˜Hulkamania€™ tour of Australia. He finally returned to the WWE in 2012 to be inducted into the Hall of Fame as part of the Four Horsemen. Occasional appearances came to a halt last August when, at Summerslam Axxess, he was accused of being intoxicated and going off-script in a public chat with Jim Ross. Yet Flair returned to the WWE again at this year€™s €˜Old School RAW€™ and recently endorsed The Shield, turning his back on Evolution. With those teams main eventing Payback in a No Holds Barred six-man elimination tag match, it makes storyline sense for Flair to make an appearance, whether that be backing The Shield or showing he remained Evolution all along. With the feud set to continue for at least another month, Flair can then stick around to remind folks why he€™s €˜The Dirtiest Player in the Game€™.
