Yes, I know what you might be thinking right now. For nearly a decade, there have been rumors circulating about WWEs interest, and their failed attempts at signing one of the biggest legends in the business, the Stinger. I also know that every year during the WrestleMania season, talks about Sting signing with the WWE get intense, but all the plans about Sting facing The Undertaker at WrestleMania dwindled away when Brock Lesnar conquered the legendary streak at WrestleMania 30. While that is true, reports have suggested that Sting came very close to signing with the WWE this year, with just a couple of things needed to be worked out, which were considered to be a formality. All that has quickly turned around, and according to the dirt sheets, what was once considered inevitable is now kept on the back burner. With Sting even appearing on the tribute show for the Ultimate Warrior, it was even reported that he had signed on the dotted lines, but that was just the case of the reporters jumping the gun. At this point of time, it makes all the sense in the world for Sting to sign with WWE, not as a performer, but a legends deal similar to Hulk Hogan or Ric Flair. It will be a crying shame if Sting ends his career without ever signing for the WWE, and there is still a chance for him to face The Undertaker come WrestleMania 31, depending on Takers health and well being.
