10 Superstars Who Gained The Most From WWE's Wellness Policy
1. Everyone
The WWE Wellness Policy is often joked about. People like to have a good laugh at those suspended for violating the policy and it's not always unfair or inappropriate to do so. What should not lose sight of, however, is the very serious intention behind the WWE Wellness Policy.
There is little question that the world has lost far too many wrestlers who were far too young due at least in part to drug abuse. The list is long and only gets longer every year. Though the WWE Wellness Policy has already been around for a decade, it simply came along too late for some.
The WWE Wellness Policy may not be perfect. It has drawn criticism from many, including those who feel they were wrongfully suspended. It is, however, much better than a passive approach of doing nothing and just hoping for fewer tragic headlines.
The real benefit of the WWE Wellness Policy is, hopefully, that we will see fewer of today's wrestlers lose their lives prematurely than their predecessors from the 2000s, the 1990s, the 1980s and before. Any member of the roster who gets the help he or she needs to live a happy, healthy life is a bigger beneficiary than anyone who wins a championship because of another's suspension.
