10 Surprise WWE Returns That Are About To Happen

4. Zack Ryder

Matt Cardona knows exactly what he's doing.

The one-time Zack Ryder (which he would surely be called again if he rejoined the roster) told Wrestling Inc that he's "always ready" for a call from Triple H or anyone at WWE HQ. Assuming his wife Chelsea Green launches her own WWE comeback, then the 'Long Island Iced Z' could be in touch too.

Credit where credit is due: Cardona hasn't been sitting around twiddling his thumbs since leaving WWE as part of mass budget cuts in April 2020. He's been a busy boy, and has worked some of the best matches of his entire career for groups like IMPACT, GCW and the NWA.

At 37, he's a near 20-year wrestling veteran who still has a lot to offer. The fact that Vinnie Mac has retired could pique Matt's interest in reviving the Ryder character too. Things could be a bit different for him in a post-Vince WWE than they were in 2011, put it that way.
