The final chapter of the Banks/Bayley Clothing Chronicles came at Battleground 2016, in a match centred around Sasha's inability to battle solo against Charlotte and Dana Brooke's relentless double team attacks.

Promised a mystery partner for 'The Boss', a hopeful crowd exploded upon hearing 'The Hugger's music blare, and catching sight of the wacky waving arm flailing inflatable tube men appearing on the main roster for the very first time.

With unfinished business to attend to in the form of NXT Women's Champion Asuka on the developmental brand, Bayley's appearance would be something of a soft-launch to the main roster ahead of her signing the night after August's SummerSlam pay-per-view. However, there was again much thought placed upon wardrobe for the night that played into the idea that Banks really had contacted her former rival asking for help.

Both decked out in blue, pink and yellow, the two genuinely looked like a real tag team, expressing their unity and mutual respect in colours for the scant few that still had no idea of their storied past. It was a moment of marvellous subtle solidarity when the main protagonist needed it most.
