10 Tag Teams WWE Split Up For Absolutely No Reason

WWE spat on the legacy of LOD with an extremely shoddy split angle...

There's nothing quite like it, that presence of harmony when a pro wrestling tag-team just feels right. The art of tag-team wrestling is something that has arguably been lost in the modern era. Certainly in WWE, management haven't put as much energy into focusing on the craft, at least compared to those halcyon days of the 1980's and the early years of the new Millennium. In the 80's the promotion had a plethora of duos, but there's been much more of an emphasis on singles grappling in recent years. Occasionally, tag wrestling has made a short comeback, spiking erratically. For example, The New Age Outlaws were awesome in the late-1990's, and Edge & Christian, The Dudley Boyz and The Hardy Boyz worked wonders together in 2000-2001. It makes sense that each unit only has a finite shelf life, but what happens when WWE jump the gun and simply decide to separate a tag-team without any real rhyme or reason? The 10 examples listed here were all teams that worked well together, perhaps they weren't all the absolute best, but they were much better as one rather than apart. That didn't stop those in charge from meddling, and it often either led to a hasty reunion or rather unsatisfying runs individually.
