10 Tag Teams WWE Split Up For Absolutely No Reason
3. The Dudley Boyz
The Dudley Boyz are one of the most successful tag-teams in wrestling history. They have worked in WWE, ECW and TNA, enjoying success in all three. They even held the WCW Tag Team Titles during the midst of the ill-fated Invasion angle in 2001. Returning in the Summer of 2015, Bubba Ray and D-Von have slotted in nicely to the tag scene in today's WWE. Back in 2002, the company launched the very first WWE Draft. In order to sell that shocks that could happen due to the 'random' lottery format, They Dudley Boyz were split up for the first time in years. Bubba was drafted to Raw, whereas D-Von made a home for himself on SmackDown. The latter's Reverend D-Von gimmick flopped miserably, and Bubba didn't have much more luck on Monday nights. By the end of the year WWE decided to put the team back together at the Survivor Series. In fairness, they had wanted to experiment with both men, but it hadn't worked. Years later, the Dudleys would later split again in TNA much more successfully, at least for the re-named Brother Ray who went on to become one of the finest heels in wrestling. Nevertheless, most fans would agree that the Dudleys work much better together than apart.
