10 Talents TNA Totally Dropped The Ball With

2. Jay Lethal

Macho Man Jay Lethal TNA was so close with this one. So, very close. Lethal debuted as the youngest member of the TNA roster and was a blue chipper for sure. Lethal clearly had a bright future ahead of him and it looked like he was actually going to be a World Title contender. Not long after he debuted with the company Jay Lethal was given the gimmick €œBlack Machismo€ because he could do a great Macho Man impression. He would dress like, act like, and talk like the Macho Man. Lethal made the gimmick work and held onto that gimmick longer than most probably assumed. He got over with it, though. Lethal starting becoming a big fan favorite between his dedication to the gimmick and his in-ring work. After a brief stint with Consequences Creed and a Tag Title win, Lethal would achieve his big push. Lethal got into a feud with Fortune. Lethal showed that he could also do an amazing Ric Flair impression and it led to one of the most memorable exchanges in TNA history between the two. Lethal would go on to defeat Desmond Wolfe, he would defeat AJ Styles, and he would even defeat Ric Flair with the figure-four leglock. Lethal was riding high and his status as a main eventer was pretty much solidified, until he won the X-Division title. TNA put the X title back on Lethal and had him feud with the debuting Robbie E. Lethal would lose the feud and leave the company afterwards. Lethal was on top of the world and just like that, TNA dropped the ball on one of their most talented, popular, young stars. Such a shame.
