This one is a bit of a long shot. As we have recently been reminded, no talent is indispensable, but Proud and Powerful are a great team who probably should have had a Tag Title reign when The Inner Circle were riding high. It reached a point where fans, along with Santana himself it seems, began to wonder why they were still knocking about with Chris Jericho, going nowhere.
It’s become apparent that relations between Santana and Ortiz have now broken down, with the once-tight pair not on good terms. According to Konnan, their dispute comes down to Santana wanting to be used better and Ortiz being happy to have a secure job and be looked after financially.
The dispute almost led to physical confrontation between Santana and another talent overdue a title reign in AEW, Eddie Kingston. Rumours have it that Santana, who has been out injured since Blood & Guts, won’t be returning to AEW.
If Tony Khan wants to help resolve the pair's issues and hold on to Santana, and if it’s not already too late, maybe the promise of gold could make the difference?
