10 Terrible Debuts AEW Quickly Fixed

6. Ethan Page

Jungle Boy Christian Cage
AEW

Ethan Page came across like a welcome goober on the post-Double Or Nothing 2021 edition of Dynamite, hilariously calling Darby Allin out for cowardice while simultaneously saying he wasn't permitted to team with the 62-year-old Sting in a rematch between them.

That may seem like a reductive role for a wrestler who only debuted earlier this year, but his pairing with Scorpio Sky had at least imbued Page with a sense of purpose. And as trivial as that may now be following their comprehensive loss at the pay-per-view, it's better than fading into the background in a Face Of The Revolution Ladder Match that had more going wrong than right on the night.

Ironically, it was Sky who sealed victory by grabbing the brass ring/Sonic prop/haemorrhoids pillow that night, but just about everybody - Page included - suffered for their involvement in a bizarrely boring multi-man brawl. They're better together than apart, and flashes of Page and Allin's pre-AEW rivalry should encourage their fans of what's still to come.
