10 Terrible Habits WWE Commentary Team Need To Break

2. "And Joining Us For This Match On Commentary..."

No. No no no no no, this has to stop. This is, by itself, one of the single biggest problems in WWE programming to date. The increasing reliance that the WWE has on building their mid card feuds on the back of commentary cameos is infuriating and lazy lazy booking. Stop me if you've heard this one before. The WWE is building (blank) for a title shot. They have a singles match. The champion, (blank) is on commentary. The match spills outside and shenanigans ensue. At the end of the match, the champion raises the title belt and walks away. Sometimes this role is reversed, and the champion has the match while the challenger watches. BORING. And it plays hell with the programme. Wrestlers aren't commentators. It's not what they trained to do. Some, like Dean Ambrose and ex-employee AJ Lee, are good at it. Some, like the Bella Twins, and R-Truth are maddening, and the fact the team turn their presence at ringside into a mini-interview while ignoring the match on hand does nothing for the feud. Less than nothing, as it exposes the wrestlers for being charismatic than they'd like to appear, and makes the feud irritating. Listen to this absolute nonsense: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVRgFF5xGPc How is Paige supposed to get over with FIVE people chatting away. It's a waste of everybody's time. Build feuds with creativity, with stories, not just putting people near each other and hoping for the best.
