Braun Strowman's post-SummerSlam heel turn was perhaps the point of no return for the 'Monster Among Men'.

WWE somehow still hadn't pulled the trigger on a performer that seemed to be the perfect marriage of Vince McMahon's giant-lust and actual audience adoration, but his illogical heel turn shortly after Roman Reigns' Universal Title victory reflected the first of two final nails in his credible topliner coffin (and more on the other later).

Braun and Tag Team Championship pairing Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre formed an interminable alliance to combat a reunited Shield, but the trio instead did away with Strowman's aura entirely - he was one of three dorks getting bounced around by babyfaces, just weeks after doing that damage himself to any heels that dared to step to him. The monster was just a man.

Flashing back to 2018's Autumn Of Discontent is made tougher by viewing just how many different characters made up a Raw roster that felt as boring then as today's does now.
