The Brood sucked...

...your blood!

And also sh*t.

Edge's recent flirtations with bloodbaths and fiery entrances have revised history. Some people are convinced that the stable was good, or cool, when they really weren't. God bless Gangrel, because he seems like such a sweet man, but he was not a good promo. Neither was Edge in 1999; when explaining their motives to Dok Hendrix. they spouted a load of total b*llocks, stumbled over their words, and went full ham with villainous laughter after delivering what they thought was their big breakthrough catchphrase: "The freaks come out at night!"

Edge delivered that exact same laugh at WrestleMania 38. Hey Edge, 1999 called, and they're sick and tired of you!

Quite why Edge thinks it's a good idea to reprise this stuff in 2022 is anybody's guess, but at least he isn't reprising the gimmick first pitched to him: 'Riot & Rage', a Vince Russo-devised sixth form poet with green hair and a penchant for silk shirts.

This, seriously, was almost his fate. He was almost Morrissey trying to get in on the industrial goth train in the early '90s.

In 1998.
