4. Red Velvet Survives The Dive

Red Velvet's babyface run might have recently been abandoned in favour of her working as one of Jade Cargill's Baddies, but there were times during her first full year with All Elite Wrestling that highlighted the promise she's definitely got in the role if AEW show restraint and care in her development.

Unfortunately, "restraint" and "care" were in short supply when she folded herself in half during a Friday Night Dynamite match with The Bunny in June 2021.

Mimicking similar dives from Sasha Banks and most infamously Lita, Velvet's scorpion-like shape as she hit the floor with the full force of her head and folded neck drew horrified gasps from most watching at home even if a lot couldn't be heard from the not-quite-full post-pandemic Daily's Place. Fortuitously, she emerged mostly unscathed, even though it generated a lot of discussion on exactly how high expectations needed to be for wrestlers still ironing out the kinks in their work on national television.
