10 Terrifying Wrestling Moments That Still Scare Adults

6. Brock Lesnar: Concussion Facilitator

"That's a safe enough looking blade designed to open up a shallow cut...be a shame if...somebody didn't bother to use it, and instead used their trained elbow to open a legitimate hole in a human being's head, and then give them a concussion."

Why did WWE do this?

Obviously, the answer was to depict Brock Lesnar as the most credible and dangerous star in all of creation, with the ultimate aim of having Roman Reigns conquer him.

Lesnar had already squashed John Cena and ended the Undertaker's WrestleMania Streak. This was as unnecessary in the fiction as it was in reality. "This" being Lesnar raining down elbows onto Orton's skull and leaving him a jellied, concussed mess. It was a genuinely unsettling scene.

A secondary aim, Christ almighty, was to set up Brock Lesnar Vs. Shane McMahon. The idea of Shane McMahon avenging the man, the full-time decorated pro, that he himself couldn't even land a punch on was hysterical, or it would have been, had it not inspired utter nihilism.

"Ah man that's sick, that's sick!" Shane might have said, as Lesnar mutilated him.

A more accurate hypothetical scenario is that jumped-up little sh*t making Lesnar sell his shapeless triangle.

Lesnar, aware of this, bantered the idea off.
