This would be a huge leap, but is one that the female wrestlers are intent on making. Charlotte recently said the following to Talksport Radio -
I guess that sounds clichéd but thats what I want to do. I want to be taken as I know were not men, but I want to be a main eventer. I know one day I will main event a pay-per-view. It might not be WrestleMania, but it will be a pay-per-view.
You can bet AJ Lee feels the same way. She'd probably even be the ideal choice to main event a pay per view with Charlotte. Realistically, something like this is years away. Ronda Rousey proved that a woman could headline a pay per view in the UFC, but that's like comparing apples and oranges. Still, booked right and pushed hard, it is plausible that two women could get over enough to close a PPV show. It is hard to imagine it ever being a regular thing, but as a one off, it could probably be achieved in the WWE's evolution. It would be a true mark of sex equality in the WWE.
