10 Things CM Punk Wants You To Forget About WWE

1. That They Gave Him Platform To Launch MMA Career

Make no mistake about it, CM Punk's impending career with UFC would not be receiving quite as much media attention if he hadn't first been a WWE superstar. Hundreds of fighters who have dedicated their lives to preparing for a career in Mixed Martial Arts will never receive the press Punk has, and he has Vince McMahon to thank for that. Obviously, he also has his own hard work backing him up, because even the mighty Vince McMahon can't simply point at someone, say 'star', and they magically become a success for his company. It's a 2-way street, but that's again something Phil Brooks overlooks in favour of blowing his own horn. At least, that's how he appears to the media, as someone who feels they owe him something, rather than seeking to prove that he - an unknown commodity in the very-real world of UFC - belongs in the biggest fight league on the planet. Without years of being a household name in WWE, would CM Punk be afforded the entry to MMA that he has received? It's doubtful. What other things do you think CM Punk would like fans to forget when he's badmouthing WWE? Do you agree with the choices here on this list?
