In the mid-2000s, The Rock was supposedly tipped to star in a Johnny Bravo feature-length film, but the movie was tragically cancelled during its production stage. In hindsight, Johnson might well view this as a narrow escape. At the 2008 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony he famously joked with John Cena about their respective bad movies, poking fun at his own role in 'Doom'. It seems a silly thought now, but the WWE could well have been hoping for this particular project to come to fruition. A Rock appearance in such a film could have familiarised a whole new generation of children with the WWE brand. On the other hand, Vince McMahon may not have been thrilled with the casting of one of his biggest ever money-spinners in a Cartoon Network production, a company so closely affiliated with ex-WCW owner Ted Turner.
