10. His Debut Faction Is Suspiciously Familiar Today
OHaire debuted in WCW in June 2000, graduating from WCWs Power Plant training gym after only six months, and three months later, with tag partner Mark Jindrak, had helped form the Natural Born Thrillers stable, comprised of themselves, leader and mouthpiece Mike Sanders, Shawn Stasiak, Chuck Palumbo, Johnny The Bull Stamboli and Reno. A group of seven rookies fresh out of developmental, the Natural Born Thrillers were booked to take the old guard of WCW by storm, and after Sanders won the WCW commissioners role in a match, the faction proceeded to do so. Sadly, with WCWs stop-start booking strategy, the stable wouldnt capitalise on the talent of its members or the potential of the angle, and the Natural Born Thrillers had fallen to pieces and all but disbanded by February 2001. Sound oddly familiar? Yes, its functionally the same angle that the WWE would make famous with the Nexus in June 2010: an angle which would see eight (later seven) rookies booked to take the old guard of WWE by storm, and after their leader won control of John Cena in a match, the faction proceeded to do so. Sadly, with the WWEs stop-start booking strategy, the stable wouldnt capitalise on the talent of its members or the potential of the angle, and the Nexus had fallen to pieces and all but disbanded by July 2011. And people say that Vince McMahon never took anything from the remains of WCW
