10 Things You Didn't Know About Sean O'Haire

7. He Had Some Really Big Mates

In WCW, one man who took O€™Haire under his wing and showed him the ropes €“ how the infamous political €˜structure€™ worked, how to get from point A to point B €“ was Bill Goldberg. The two men shared an interest in working out and ignoring office politics and backstabbing wrestlers alike: both were there to do the work, and that€™s all. It helped that both O€™Haire and Goldberg were also realistic about the industry they loved. Neither was a mark for the business, but neither failed to show respect for it. It€™s telling that upon entering WWF/WWE, both men refused to allow the company to control them: O€™Haire would request his release upon realising that he was not being used to his full potential, and never looked back, and Goldberg deliberately signed a one-year deal and upon its expiry, left and never really looked back either. Astonishingly, O€™Haire also credited Vince Russo€™s replacement as WCW booker, John Laurinaitis with helping him out as a rookie. It seems Johnny Ace may have developed his reputation for backstabbing during his WWE tenure. Later on, in WWE, Paul €˜Big Show€™ Wight was O€™Haire€™s frequent travelling buddy and friend, helping him out with his not-inconsiderable stroke and going to bat for him time and again. It€™s good to have friends with influence.
