Many credit pay-per-view juggernaut Brock Lesnar with having the most rapid ascension to the top of the WWE in company history. Winning the WWE title less than five months following his WWE debut, Lesnar's win was among the most impressive and fastest rises to the top in wrestling history. However, it wasn't the fastest title win following a WWE debut. That distinction belongs to "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. After running roughshod over the National Wrestling Alliance in the 1980's, Ric Flair made a highly anticipated WWE debut in 1991, declaring himself "the real world's champion." Shortly after his debut, Flair lived up to the self imposed moniker by winning the 1992 Royal Rumble, and also the WWE title, just 130 days after debuting in the company-- 28 fewer than Lesnar. Unless the landscape of the WWE drastically changes it's unlikely this record will ever be broken, as the company seems to prefer going for a slow burn as opposed to hotshotting their championship.
