10 Things You Don't Know About WWE In 1994

1. Vince McMahon Had A REALLY Bad Year In Court

1994 was a rough year for the WWF in terms of litigation. The most high profile lawsuit was Vince McMahon€™s Steroid Trial, where the Federal government was trying to prove that McMahon knowingly distributed steroids to his wrestlers. Vince was found not guilty, but the trial took an incredible toll on him. That wasn€™t the only time that Vince and/or the WWF went to court in 1994. On April 29, Charles Austin was awarded $26.7 million in Hillsborough County, FL for being nearly paralyzed by Marty Jannetty during a 1990 taping of WWF Superstars when he took a Rocker Dropper wrong. In addition, Vince€™s old friend Jesse €œThe Body€ Ventura took him to court for a dispute over royalties. Ventura was awarded more than $800,000 in video tape royalties and another $8,600 in merchandising royalties because he claimed he was not paid to have his likeness used in home video releases. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_auNFVxIDI All in all, 1994 was a very expensive year for Vince McMahon and the World Wrestling Federation.
