9. As Many Title Changes Happened Off Television as On
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AFvk3StVWQ These days in WWE -- with 3-hour Raws, 2-hour Smackdowns, Main Event, monthly pay per views and all of the other content on the WWE Netowrk -- it is damn near impossible to see a title change hands on a non-televised event. Back in the early-to-mid 1990s, the WWF didnt have nearly as much television as they do these days, so non-televised title changes were common. In 1994, they were so common, they happened just as frequently as televised title changes. In all, there were 12 title changes in 1994. The WWF Championship changed hands three times, the Intercontinental Title twice, the Tag Team Titles a whopping six times, and the Womens Championship only once. Of the three WWF Title changes, two were televised (Bret over Yokozuna and Backlund over Bret), and the third (Diesel over Backlund) took place at a Madison Square Garden house show immediately following Survivor Series. The match was quick enough where a hard camera caught the action and they aired it on the Action Zone. Both Intercontinental title switches were shown on television, but Diesels defeat of Razor Ramon was notable for being the last title change to ever take place on WWF Superstars. Of the six tag team title switches, four of them were never shown. Men on a Mission and the Quebecers traded the belts back and forth on a single house show circuit. Bull Nakano defeated Alundra Blayze in Japan for the Womens Title.
