10 Things In Triple H's WWE Contract You Need To Know
4. Bad Matches Could, In Theory, Breach The Contract
It's likely this has ever been enforced to the letter, but:
9.6 WRESTLER shall use best efforts in the ring in the performance of wrestling services for a match or other activity, in order to provide an honest exhibition of WRESTLERs wrestling skills and abilities, consistent with the customs of the professional wrestling industry; and WRESTLER agrees all matches shall be finished in accordance with the PROMOTER's direction. Breach of this Section 9.6 may cause a forfeiture of any payments due WRESTLER pursuant to Section 7 and may entitle PROMOTER to terminate this Agreement, but such breach shall not terminate PROMOTER's licenses and other rights under this Agreement.
Obviously, it would be a weird thing to claim a breach about. It's completely subjective unless someone admitted to dogging it, and it would be really mean to subject someone to the legal hang-ups of a breach. But it's at least possible that Vince McMahon could decide to punish someone for having the worst match he's ever seen and demand that they assert the contract has been breached.
