10 Things In WWE You Wouldn't Have Believed A Year Ago

9. Asuka’s First Pin Goes To Carmella

In August last year, Asuka arrived on the main roster by relinquishing her NXT Women’s title with her reign at 510 days. She was never once beaten in the company, and it looked like they’d keep that streak going at least until WrestleMania.

And they did. Sort of. 860 days with no losses until, in a frankly great 'Mania moment, she tapped out to Charlotte. We all fancied her to win that match but, if you’d spelled it out that to people a year prior, it would still have made sense.

What noooooobody would have believed though, is that her next feud would be Carmella - at the time the reigning Women’s Money In The Bank briefcase holder and, um, Mrs Ellsworth - and she’d hand her her first pinfall loss. It wasn't clean, admittedly, but it wasn't a giant miscarriage of justice either. How she comes back from that is anyone's guess.
