10 Things John Cena STILL Can’t Actually Do

5. Sell, Believably

...such as when he pops back up for his big finishing sequence.

Hulk Hogan would often overcome adversity by absorbing it - a heel's finisher would often revitalise 'The Hulkster', so other-worldly were his powers. Similar skills are shared by 'Super-Cena', but these have never connected with the bulk of the audience watching his matches.

Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Dave Batista and even Roman Reigns haven't shared the power-up potency of 'The Champ', so dead was the trope by 1995 when Hulk Hogan's continued usage of it earned choruses of boos from WCW faithful unwilling to play along.

His distinct lack of suffering has extended from the closing moments to virtually every point in the match. He collapses in a heap from one punch whilst completely neglecting to express pain from another. Braun Strowman flattens everybody with everything, but Cena was virtually unscathed from a Raw war that did absolutely nothing for the 'Monster Among Men'.

Like fellow OVW graduate Randy Orton, he may be something of a 'wrestler's wrestler' - many colleagues speak high of his work with them. They, though, are not the ones still forced to endure a knackered act for entertainment alone.
