10 Things You Need To Know About WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee
5. She Competed In NXT Season Three... And Lost
Wow, fans and management really flubbed that one, didn't they? NXT Season Three was the first to feature an all-female cast. Women from FCW vied for the right to become WWE's next breakout Diva and AJ became one of the favorites the instant her name was announced, Naomi, Maxine, Aksana, Jamie and newcomer Kaitlyn provided stiff competition but the petite New Jerseyan established herself as a crowd favorite early on and seemed destined to become the winner of the competition show. As the weeks progressed, she formed a relationship with Kaitlyn and became friends, leading to one of the more fun elements of the weekly show. At the same time, the rookie Kaitlyn began stealing some of the spotlight with her quirky behavior and fun attitude. On November 23, 2010, her stint on the show came to a shocking end as she was eliminated, despite having defeated Naomi earlier in the night. The crowd protested the decision with a chorus of boos and AJ was tearful as she said her goodbyes. It was the first real indicator of the connection she had the people, the same people that would ultimately make her one of the most successful Divas of this generation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eN57xnyAOA She would return the following week and celebrate Kaitlyn's win with her but one could not help but think that it was AJ who deserved to be the winner.
