Kenny Omega vs. Chris Jericho was a dream match that delivered on every single level. The brutality was there from the get-go, and the two men told a story that captivated as much as it enthralled. This was two true greats at the very top of the profession proving that wrestling is more of an art form than anything else.

Kenny Omega was the overwhelming favourite going into the match, but the thought that Jericho was going to stick around sowed seeds of doubt in the minds of many. The two put on such a spectacle that that doubt lasted the length of the match, only for a One Winged Angel on a chair to vanquish it at the last.

Omega has been a heel for all of his NJPW run so far, but it is clear that he is another babyface megastar in waiting. The IWGP United States champion wrestled the match as a good guy, taking a beating for the majority of the bout before prevailing at the last. It is difficult to foresee a Wrestle Kingdom 13 without Kenny Omega in the final match.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
