10 Things NXT Got Right At TakeOver: Philadelphia

6. Stars In The Crowd

WWE has signed a plethora of independent stars recently, and it was expected that NXT would take the classic ‘in the crowd’ route when it came to introducing one or two to TV. Did anyone expect all of the new signings to be featured in such a fashion last night? What’s more, who saw the reveal of EC3 coming?

It may not have been a recommended move, but NXT did the right thing by showing all of the new signings in the crowd in Philadelphia. It gave the show a real ‘big event’ feel, something that has been lacking when the brand has taken this route in the past. War Machine and EC3 got great receptions, but it was the cheers that accompanied Ricochet that will warm the cockles the most.

By showing EC3, War Machine, Ricochet and Candice LeRae in the crowd, NXT set out TakeOver as ‘the’ place to be in professional wrestling.
