One of the biggest shocks of all this time around is the fact that NJPW has managed to book a junior heavyweight tag team championship match that features just two teams. Usually this becomes a four team spotfest, and whilst there will almost certainly a whole lot of spots it is nice to see it as a more traditional bout for now.

The Young Bucks will defend the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships against Roppongi Vice, winners of the annual Super Jr. Tag Team Tournament. Beretta and Rocky Romero defeated ACH and Taiji Ishimori in the finals, one year after coming up short against Matt Sydal and Ricochet.

It is vital that no teams get added to this match over the next few days. By keeping it 2-on-2 New Japan is finally paying the division the respect it deserves, maintaining the integrity of the Super Jr. tag tournament in the process.

There are already enough multi-team matches on the show as it is.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
