10 Things That Must Happen In NXT In 2018

8. The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic

For whatever reason, there was no Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic in 2017. Maybe it was because of the United Kingdom Championship tournament, or maybe even the inaugural Mae Young Classic, but NXT didn’t deem it necessary to hold the tandem spectacular that had lit up 2015 and 2016.

NXT’s developing tag team division suffered as a result, and this should be put right in 2018. With The Revival, #DIY and Authors of Pain not likely to be involved moving forward (for a variety of reasons), a new generation of teams are going to be looking to establish themselves in Full Sail University.

SAnitY, reDRagon, Street Profits, Moustache Mountain, Burch & Lorcan and the rest are waiting to make NXT tag team wrestling great again. The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic must return in 2018, and should almost certainly be won by a babyface team. TM-61 are surely due to return sooner rather than later - the Antipodean duo would be a great fit.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
