10 Things That Will Define The Undertaker's WWE Career

10. Debut To Champion Within A Year

The Undertaker made his debut at Survivor Series in 1990, and whilst he made quite the splash I don't think many would have expected him to have the longevity and success that he did. He pinned Hall of Famer Koko B. Ware (eurgh) within a minute of his debut, and followed this up by knocking off Dusty Rhodes moments later. He was counted out of the match, but his performance was impressive to say the least. After squashing a number of jobbers, bodybagging them and carrying them to the back, Taker was thrust directly into the main event, battling such legends as the Ultimate Warrior and Randy Savage among others. He would get a World Championship shot against then-champion Hulk Hogan on the one year anniversary of his debut, coming out victorious thanks to the interference of Ric Flair. At the time, Undertaker was the youngest world champion in WWE history.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
