Global Force Wrestling: 10 Facts And Questions About Jeff Jarrett's New Promotion

10. Jeff Jarrett Is Behind It All

Jeff Jarrett Jeff Jarrett is the founder of Global Force Wrestling and is spearheading the project along with his wife, Karen Jarrett -- Kurt Angle€™s ex. It was rumored that their sudden relationship and the attention it garnered following Karen€™s divorce from Kurt was one of the main catalysts for Jeff€™s departure from TNA Wrestling. Initially he was forced to take a leave of absence from the company by Dixie Carter. Then, in December of 2013, Jarrett tendered his resignation -- which officially went into effect on January 6th of this year. He does, however, still own a minority stake in TNA -- a reported 29% of the company with the other 71% being owned by Panda Energy and its head executive Robert Carter. Almost immediately after Jarrett€™s departure from his former company, he began to tease something big on various social media platforms. As stated previously, that big announcement came on April 7, 2014 -- just one day after the biggest sports entertainment event of the year, WrestleMania. Obviously, Jarrett was hoping to capitalize -- as many other promotions often do -- on the mainstream attention that €˜Mania often draws. Since the announcement, Jeff and Karen have made additional strides to launching their new baby. Furthermore, it€™s become quite clear that not only is the former €œChosen One€ leading this project, but it seems that he€™s taking on a great deal of the work himself. Ultimately -- and no matter what deals and partnerships are struck -- Jeff is holding the reigns here and leading the herd.
